Behind the Clouds

Another entry from one of Mom's journals:

Mon., Apr. 7, 2003 - Ice in air, cloudy.

Behind the clouds the sun is shining. We need to rise higher so we can see. The brightness is there just hid today. We need to get on our knees and pray so Father will answer and push clouds away. It always happens when we pray. Sometimes His answers come quickly. Sometimes more slowly it seems. But He’s always there listening. Remember He’s sovereign over His Word. So speak it clearly each time you pray.

Dad Has a New Truck!

Talk about a happy guy....Sandy says he's like a kid in a candy shop. This gorgeous blue truck is a Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie with a 5.7 HEME engine.

Dad got it loaded with leather, heated AND cooled seats with six-way power and a memory for two positions. Oh, and the heal can be controlled on both sides within 8 degrees. Now who else is going to be driving this truck?

It has a programable CD changer. When you put the CD in it copies it to memory. Somehow he can have his cell phone come through the speakers, he thinks. But he's not sure his cell phone can do that. If it could, it would show who is calling on the screen. He has satelite radio also.

He can turn on outside AND inside lights in the house from the truck. And he has a remote starter so he can be warm when he gets in the truck. The steering wheel is even heated!

It has a moon roof (his description I think). The truck bed is a short base 6-1/2'. He wanted the shorter bed for pulling the trailer.

He purchased the running boards, camper mirrors, and brake controller, so now he is just about ready to go camping. Of course it comes with cruise control.

The headlights turn on automatically at dusk. This man is spoiled! It gets 18 mpg on the highway, has 20" wheels, a backup alarm (just in case he doesn't see you back there), and a 110v outlet so he can charge his cell phone or use a printer or blow dryer.... oh wait, he doesn't have only one hair to blow!

He wants to put on a heavy duty cap with boxes on the outside for his tools and a roller bed so he can roll it out to reach the tools in the back. In his words, "I have to wait for a bit." before he can add these items to this already luxurious vehicle. He is even considering a backup camera so when he backs up to attach the trailer he can see the hitch.

Dad says his first road trip is to be determined.

So if you are on the roads in that part of the state, look for a beautiful blue Dodge RAM with a cute man grinning from ear to ear driving.

Smarties!

I had a nice talk with David today. He said Brittany isn't the only smartie in the family! Katelyn is in the top 10 in her class. Wow! He thinks she is number 8 but wasn't positive. That is awesome. With a 90 average, she will go far. David is taking her to visit a college near Syracuse. I'm so proud of my family.

Claire has mentioned going back to ACC too. This is very encouraging. Her artistic skills are fabulous. I'd love to see her develop them for God. There is an awesome site I found that has beautiful picture sketches of Jesus. It's at http://picturesofjesus4you.com/. This artist is selling her work on the internet. I just love the pictures of Jesus laughing with the children. He is so real and approachable.

So, David and Janine have a full house again. Josh is home. Claire and Addison are home. However, Katelyn will most likely be leaving next year. David said he loves having Addison around as he makes him laugh. The sweetness of children, huh? That is until they learn to talk back!

What a nice conversation. The only thing that would have made it better is if I could have talked with Janine too. She was working though. Maybe next time.

Happy Birthday, Dad Robison

It's Dad R's birthday today. Wonder what he's doing? Probably working on wood...or out shopping...or on the computer....

What's up, Dad?

Congrats Brittany

Brittany is #20 in her class for her grades. Congratulations, Brittany. Way to go! She is only a Sophomore; just think what she might be able to do in two years. We could have our first Valedictorian in the Hodges family! No pressure, Brit!

Zack Loves to Sing

Zack is quite a singer. You'll have to listen carefully for his praises. I wish it was louder but that was as close as I could get.

There Were Ten Who Knew Him

Here is another of Mom's poems I found. This one was hand written and mounted on a thick cardboard and had the edges burned.
There Were Ten Who Knew Him

There were ten who knew Him
They all had garments of white.
Each had a lamp to trim
Each heard the call in the night.
There were then who knew Him
They all grew weary and dropped off to sleep.
Each had intended his vigil to keep
Each had a lamp filled to the brim.
But the oil ran dry as the time slowly past
Not nearly enough, it would not last.
Five longed daily for a new taste of wine
Five never could find the time.
The hour drew near for the bridegroom’s return
Oh how the five had hearts that did burn.
While the others worked hard laboring long
Five sat in His presence and grew strong.
Then at last there came the shout
Five were ready with His Spirit were full.
The others had lamps that almost were out
Oh please share your oil with us.
But alas they knew could not be
You must seek Him yourself.
Too late they found out
How important His Spirit must be.
He maketh alive with His Spirit within
A fresh daily touch keeps my cup to the brim
Overflowing with joy at this knowledge of him.
